Biography
Wouter Konings is born in 1969 at Groningen. After his study Industrial Product Design he went to England in 1996 to start as a design engineer at Dyson.
At Dyson Wouter joined a team that was creating the new bag less cyclone vacuum cleaner, the DC03. After managing the tooling, test and production start-up of this vacuum cleaner, he got the chance to improve the current washing machines. The result was a machine which washes quicker can handle a bigger load and gives a new appearance to white goods. The design process at Dyson is based on making models and testing them. The idea is that ‘trail and error’ generate impotent insights which are essential to the find the solution. read more
After 3 years, he returned to the Netherlands to lead at team of design engineers at Philishave (Philips DAP) in Drachten. The brief was to create a new shaver platform for the lowest price points. To integrate functions in the most efficient way and minimize risks. read more
In 2000, Wouter joined one of Dutch the biggest design consultancy’s. As an Senior design-engineer he lead projects for clients like ASML, Heineken, Brabantia, Thetford, Hamax and FEI.
In 2003 he founded Konings Industrial Design. In it’s short existence, it has build an broad client base and has lead several start-ups to a successful marked introduction.
